United PreCheck Customers (& others) at DEN now have more checkpoint options .
Me thinks the great separation plan between the Elite Class (Precheck & Clear/Precheck) and the Common Class (everyone else) wasn’t working out as planned…..
From the DEN Airport email newsletter today:
“North Security Checkpoint: Open 4 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- TSA PreCheck: This checkpoint is primarily for TSA PreCheck passengers
- CLEAR Customers: A CLEAR lane is available on the east side of this checkpoint for those travelers who are CLEAR customers with TSA PreCheck
- Premium/Premier Traveler Lane: This lane is available on the west side of this checkpoint
- Standard Screening: There will be up to three standard screening lanes available
South Security Checkpoint: Open 24/7 (see TSAPreCheck hours below)
- Standard Screening: This checkpoint is dedicated to standard screening travelers
- TSA PreCheck: Up to two TSA PreCheck lanes will be open from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m.PreCheck passengers traveling after 8 p.m. will receive an expedited screening through the standard lanes at this checkpoint
- CLEAR Customers: A CLEAR lane is available at this checkpoint for standard screening. CLEAR customers with TSA PreCheck may use this lane but are strongly encouraged to utilize the lane on the North Security Checkpoint for a more efficient experience
A-Bridge Security Checkpoint: Open from approximately 4:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Standard Screening: This checkpoint is dedicated to standard screening travelers. TSA PreCheck is not available at this checkpoint.”
Be sure to bring your compass…..

Yep, flew out of DEN today and can confirm precheck is back at south security. Premium line was pretty slow (I dont have Pre) - much more so than last Thursday when I went through security and there was no precheck line at south security.

On the West side of the North end of the terminal on Level 6. It's been hidden behind construction walls for a long time. I haven't flown out in a few months, so can't describe it better.

IG post on 1/8 said the scheduled open for the new West side security is 2/6.
Level 6, north west side. You enter the new security going from west to east (So north of door 604 probably), once clear you get on the escalator down to security. Their IG page has video that shows it a little better than the pictures. I made a rough drawing below based on the current map on the DEN website.

The new checkpoint is getting some polish this week and all the equipment will be getting thoroughly tested by a few of us before it opens to the public. There may even be a soft opening - I'll update this thread when I know for sure. It will be very easy for United fliers to drop off bags or get dropped off on Level 6 and move directly to the screening checkpoint once this opens. Lanes will be marked with arrows to let you know if they are open or not, and if there's a wait in a given lane or it's clear to enter without delay. Screening times will be posted on video monitors above the entrance to the vestibule.

Colorado Flag (North)
US Flag & Westin Hotel (South)
New Checkpoint (West) aka the side where the mountains are but also closer to the Colorado flag.

...DIA officials said going forward, they will be opening an East security checkpoint that mirrors the West, and eventually, the South security checkpoint will also close in a few years.
I'm just so happy that the new security checkpoints are located as far as possible from the A train arrival platform. Brilliant.

Indeed. That is a great way to avoid congestion, with everyone putting on belts, shoes, and rearranging carry on baggage contents.
Can you imagine if everyone getting off the train at once stepped into that crowded space?

Hooray! More of the sparkly white terrazzo tile...that starts cracking and getting ugly-patched with putty within two weeks of installation!

The way I heard it on the local news was that eventually all three current checkpoints (North, South and A Bridge) will close. I’m guessing this would happen once the new East security check point opens and any bugs are worked out.
I'm wondering if you will be able to walk the A Bridge post security from the terminal at that time or will it be closed, forcing use of the trains?

West is the one that is ready to go and will replace North (TSA Pre+) 1/30 with escalators down to the train. East will then be built and ultimately replace South AND Bridge in 2025, at this point it may not be possible to use the Bridge as an arrival.
