Konate responds to transfer links

Liverpool defender Ibrahim Konate has responded to reports that he is being eyes by French giants Paris Saint Germain.

French outlet L'Equipe reported this week that he was gaining interest from the club. But Konate has shut down that talk.

He's told RMC Sport: "I'm happy at Liverpool so my head is there. I don't even think about it. I am focused on the pitch and the Euros this summer.

"It's a bit logical because I was born in France and in Paris. I have six older brothers and they all support PSG. We watched a lot of matches together and I went to the stadium a lot when I was younger.

"There is a little story with PSG but I made my own. I played at Sochaux, then Leipzig before Liverpool. I am happy there and I am not paying too much attention."

Carlo Ancelotti breaks silence on Rodrygo transfer talk

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has said that he has ‘no doubts’ about Rodrygo being an important player for his side in the future amid talk surrounding a summer move away.

Liverpool have previously been linked with the forward, with some reports even suggesting that the Reds have seen a bid of £103m rejected for the player.

“Rodrygo is going to give it all [on Saturday], he’s a very important piece for us,” Ancelotti said in his pre-match press conference.

“He has been very important, he is, and he will be in the future, we have no doubt about that whatsoever.”

Leny Yoro 'aware' of Liverpool interest

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool remain interested in signing Lille defender Leny Yoro.

The report claims that the 18-year-old is "aware" of the Reds expressing an interest in his signature this summer.

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also listed as wanting to sign Yoro, who is thought to be valued at £50 million by Lille. However, Yoro is thought to be waiting to see if Real Madrid make an offer before deciding whether or not to join Liverpool.

The La Liga giants are reportedly prepared to pay £30 million to try and sign Yoro. Liverpool have been heavily linked with signing a new centre-back following the departure of Joel Matip.

Thomas Frank has already told Liverpool why they should sign Bryan Mbeumo

Liverpool are being linked with a move for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo this summer.

Mbeumo joined Brentford from French club Troyes in 2019 when the Bees were in the Championship. The winger has gone on to score 50 goals in 200 appearances and helped the club win promotion to the Premier League in 2021 and retain their top-flight status for three consecutive seasons.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has regularly praised Mbeumo during his time in West London. It was after the forward scored a hat-trick after appearing as a substitute in an FA Cup win over Port Vale in 2022 that Frank highlighted the importance Mbeumo has to his team.

FSG finalise another appointment

Fenway Sports Group have appointed Hans Leitert as their head of global goalkeeping - with the new arrival already having started the process of recruiting a head goalkeeping coach at Liverpool, writes Ian Doyle.

Leitert has assumed the newly-created position as part of an ongoing restructure of FSG's football operations overseen by their chief executive of football Michael Edwards, who returned to the fold earlier this year.

The 51-year-old, who held a similar role with Red Bull's football group for five-and-a-half years, has been working for Liverpool for the last six years as a goalkeeping scouting consultant.

Nottingham Forest charged again for behaviour in Liverpool defeat

The Football Association has charged Nottingham Forest for the conduct of their supporters during the 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in March.

The Reds defeated Nuno Espirito Santo's side on March 2 thanks to a 99th-minute winner from Darwin Nunez, which led to unsavoury scenes at the City Ground as home supporters thought their side should have been awarded possession just moments before Liverpool's winner.

On Friday, an FA statement read:

“Nottingham Forest FC has been charged with misconduct in relation to crowd control at the Premier League match against Liverpool FC on Saturday 2 March.

“It’s alleged that Nottingham Forest FC failed to ensure its spectators and/or supporters (and anyone purporting to be supporters or followers) conducted themselves in an orderly fashion; didn’t behave in an improper, threatening or provocative way; and/or didn’t commit any form of pitch incursion."

Crysencio Summerville scout report

Liverpool-linked Crysencio Summerville continues to be talked about with a return to the Premier League.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Merseyside in recent weeks as he looks to depart Leeds United after they suffered play-off final heartache against Southampton at the weekend. There is plenty of speculation for the Championship Player of the Year, with Chelsea also among the clubs reportedly interested in his services.

It has been reported that after Leeds' place in the second tier was confirmed for at least another season, the club would demand a fee in the region of £30million for the winger. Summerville earned the Player of the Year award after scoring 21 goals and providing 10 assists in the 2023/24 season but he was unable to help his side earn promotion to the Premier League.

With that said, the ECHO has taken a look at what the winger could bring to Anfield if a transfer was to materialise.

Liverpool identify possible Diaz replacement

Liverpool are said to be planning a move to sign Juventus forward Federico Chiesa on a cut-price deal. Italian reports suggest that with his contract running out next summer there is a chance to pick him up for a bargain fee after years of links.

Adding the Italy international to their ranks may cause some problems though with numerous attackers already at the club which could mean one player is forced to depart.

And that could be Luis Diaz especially as interest from Saudi Arabia has emerged recently with that likely to come alongside a substantial offer.

Liverpool are reportedly among the clubs looking to sign Teun Koopmeiners this summer.

Arne Slot worked with the Holland international during their time at AZ Alkmaar. Juventus, however, are also reportedly in the hunt for the Atalanta man, with speculation suggesting that prospective manager Thiago Motta is said to have made him one of their main targets.

However, apparently there could be a delay in the Turin club's pursuit of the European Cup winner given the fact they want to offload players first before a move is made.
