Amarillo, Texas Leone Lee Harris 1927 — 2024 Leone Lee Gilkerson Wright Harris, 97, of Amarillo, passed away on May 5, 2024 at Brookdale Sleep Hollow. Born on April 25, 1927, in Higgins, TX, she graduated from Darrouzett High School in 1944. She married Marshall Wright in 1947 and had four children. Following Marshall's passing, she married Sammie Harris in 1981. She is survived by three children, a son, Gary (Sherry) Wright of Vernon, TX; Roxie (Mark) Berry of Ponca City, OK; Bobbi (Brad) Livingston of Weston, CO; step-children, Bill Harris of Amarillo; Russell (Ron) Harris of Los Angeles, CA; Sammy Joe (Teresa) Harris of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at a later date. Wally was born on November 12, 1950 to Norris C. George and Elizabeth Ann Stewart in Tilden, Nebraska. He graduated from O'Neill High School in 1968. After high school, he went to Colorado to study mechanics. He later joined the United States Army, where he served in the Vietnam War. He serviced helicopters during his time in the Army. Following discharge from the service, he farmed for a period of time and then went on to practice his mechanic skills in Nebraska and then in Texas.
